Seven Makeup Tips and Tricks

Makeup right now has gone places and is being used to cross boundaries and re-enact confidence and pride in a lot of people. While some people take it as a hobby, others treat it as a science project – experimenting and discovering. Sometimes what you have in mind doesn’t match what you create, but there are a few tips and tricks that can help you out.

  1. The right make-up base

Don’t we just love to behold flawless makeup, right tones, highlights popping, smooth lips and stunning eyes? A wrong makeup base can lead to a patchy, scaly or dry final results. So prepare your skin pre-application by exfoliating and moisturizing both face and lip and using the right primer and your lips by also exfoliating and applying a lip balm before you start your makeup application. You will not regret this!

  1. The right tools

Makeup is an art, a skill and it has tools. You don’t see an engineer work without his toolset, do you?

Therefore, it’s time to equip yourself with the right tools; makeup brushes, eyelash curler, eyebrow template and whatever you need. Yes, you can find your way around some of these, but there is no denying how much they aid and improve your result.

These are the best brushes ever! I use them everyday and really help me for almost any makeup look.

The perfect eyeliner application

Whatever eyeliner shape you seek, it is always hurtful to see eyeliner that doesn’t seem to enter the lash line, that space in between just screams. One easy trick to avoiding this is by leaving the eyes slightly open during application.

  1. Using bronzer under eye

Highlighting your under eyes can be divine, the eyes are not called the nipples of the face for nothing. When done wrongly though it starts to look like you are trying to create an avatar character. If you have shaky hands, then you can hide that by using a bronzer to highlight this area. This trick is amazing because your bronzer is close to your skin tone.

  1. Creating lip depth

3D lippies are gorgeous, but you can create your badass definition with your palette. One easy way is by working with tones. I know ombre is cool, but using a darker tone in between your lip, and a lighter shade around can help give your lip a fuller look.

  1. Setting

Allow your makeup set! It is not pretty to look like coming off a fight ring in post-event pictures. Using a setting powder or spray allows your makeup stay fresh for longer periods. This is one I highly recommend makeup setting spray.

  1. The right products

Picking the right product might seem hectic, but it is more stressful for everyone looking when your products just do not fit. The horrors of getting a very dry finish, to an oily finish, to make up that melts or darken after a while, eeesh! Working with the wrong products might be the reason you are not getting your intended results.

Now, well equip with these tips and tricks that work, go out there!
