Growing up in Boca Raton since the age of 7 years old I should really call myself a tour guide. LOL! But, really I know almost every “best” restaurant to eat at, the places for a good Happy Hour drink, the boutiques for that last minute dress for your friend’s bachelorette party and even a cute gift to bring her too.
So here’s the skinny on what I have found…
When I was last in Boca Raton, where my parents still reside, I met up with an old friend for lunch at the Yard House, right there on the corner in the plaza. It’s a total hangout spot and the artwork on the inside on the restaurant is really eye catching. They offer happy hours daily except on Saturdays and Sundays and they even have a late night happy hour in case you missed them earlier. Well, when I met up with my friend Alana we were in no means drinking since she had to head back to the office and continue to work and I’m not much of a drinker… especially during the day.
What to order at the Yard House:
Chilled Edamame with a side of truffle oil
Ahi Sashimi(If you aren’t a fan of raw fish this may not be the food choice for you) It does have wasabi sauce that’s on the side so don’t worry about it being too much for ya. I’m not a wasabi gal much either.
Flatbreads (so good!)
If you decide to go to the Yard House to watch a game, you may want to make a reservation as it can get pretty packed. Best way to describe the place is an upscale sports bar with a very artsy flare. It’s one of my favorite places and doesn’t cost you alot of money either.
Restaurants I love to eat at in Mizner Park:
Yard House- well…you already know… LOL! Read above…
Dubliner- Oh man, I have been going to this bar/restaurant since the beginning of my college years. Tons of fun memories shared here! The owner is a really great guy that really takes pride knowing all the customers that enter his bar. I love their Trivia Game night and karaoke nights!
Ruth Chris Steakhouse- Another place you will want to try for happy hour. When you stop for happy hour you can get dishes for about $8-$15 approx. 1/3 of it’s normal price. At this restaurant, I enjoy having their parmesan truffle fries, filet sliders, filet salad paired with a pomegranate Martini.
Max’s Grille- Food, atmosphere great! Even lovely to share V-day here or a birthday. This place is a little on the pricier side. But you gotta try it at least once. It’s worth it.
Racks Downtown Eatery + Tavern (Awesome- chill vibe!) Great eatery for happy hour! Ladies drink FREE, too.
Villagio-I must have been here about 30+ times for various occasions and enjoyed the staff and food each time. Great Italian food for a fraction of the cost.
Tanzy (really cool rainforest-like atmosphere) Indoor and outdoor seating
Besides eating…here is what I love to do in Mizner Park:
Art Museum-Great place to go with someone or alone. Just take it all in. The museum even offers a student discount. So don’t forget if you are a student to bring your student ID next time you go.
Free Golfing- This is a new feature of the plaza just next to the great big gazzabos in the middle of it all.
I-Pic (the most coolest movie theater I think I have ever been to) They have these leather love seat that adjust to your comfort with a button for service- to bring you a beverage or snack you may enjoy during your movie. It’s a real hit and a perfect place for a date.
Concert in the Park– The park brings some really amazing talent from; Lynyrd Skynyrd, Matisyahu,Caddyshake, to broadway shows like Rent, 42nd street, Wicked and more others. They have even held several live orchestra performances by Grammy winners.
I love blogging at the Starbucks here on the corner. I usually have a grande regular coffee (hot) with steamed milk and honey. It’s this new thing a Starbucks barista started me on and I’m kind of like hooked now. And since have like a bazillion Starbucks gift cards, you’ll definitely be seeing me of me at their coffee shop. Oh, and their chocolate croissants are just divine (warmed, of course!)
Can you get a hole in 1?
The landscaping in Mizner is just exquisite!
The Festival of the arts
Look who is coming to town…
The colorful signs as you walk to the art museum! Isn’t it just so lovely?? Yes!!!
I caught a peek!
This new restaurant to the park, Juniors, has a game of connect 4 so guests can play while they wait for their table. Smart…and great concept they got going.
Trulucks. My parents rave about this place- they have been a handful of times with my grandmother, aunt and uncle for happy hour. I have been dying to go. Any of you been? Like it too?
The window displays are very trendy with a modern twist!
I love the furniture here at Z Gallery!
Across the street is Lord & Taylor. As a little girl, gram would buy all my clothes from there… with cute bows to match.
A view of Yard House!
